The Light Adjustable Lens™ is crafted from a specialized photosensitive material that, once implanted intraocularly, allows for modifications to the lens's shape and power through ultraviolet (UV) light.
Postoperatively, ophthalmologists can customize the lens power to meet each patient's specific needs by utilizing a Light Delivery Device (LDD) to administer a series of non-invasive phototherapy sessions. Each session lasts approximately 95–125 seconds, enabling precise adjustments of the intraocular lens (IOL) power to achieve optimal visual outcomes.
Traditional cataract surgery utilizes fixed-power monofocal intraocular lenses (IOLs), which cannot be adjusted postoperatively, thereby limiting the precision of visual correction. In contrast, the Light Adjustable Lens™ allows ophthalmologists to perform multiple postoperative refinements based on the patient’s real-world visual needs and residual refractive error, enabling personalized visual correction.Compared to patients who received a standard (fixed) monofocal IOL, those who received LAL followed by adjustments were twice as likely to achieve 20/20 vision 6 months without glasses.
Why Choose
Light Adjustable Lens™ (LAL)?
Choose the Light Adjustable Lens™ and enjoy the best personalized visual experience
tailored for you. Enhance your quality of life and regain clear
vision.
After cataract surgery, your ophthalmologist will precisely customize your vision based on your visual needs and lifestyle. No longer rely on pre-surgical refractive predictions - achieve your desired visual outcomes.
Studies show that patients who use LAL to adjust their intraocular lens are twice as likely to achieve 20/20 vision compared to those with traditional monofocal IOLs. Reduce your reliance on spectacles and elevate your daily quality of life.
Utilizing special photosensitive material, LAL allows precise modification of the intraocular lens shape using ultraviolet light. This enables personalized refractive adjustments to meet each patient's unique visual demands.
