How should patients choose a participating private ophthalmologist?
Patients may select a suitable doctor based on their individual needs. For enquiries or recommendations on participating ophthalmologists, please feel free to contact us.

How should patients arrange their first consultation?
After selecting a C-MER ophthalmologist, patients can make an appointment for their first consultation by calling or WhatsApping the C-MER customer service team. Patients should indicate that they are enrolled in the Glaucoma Public-Private Partnership Programme when booking.

What documents should patients bring to their consultation?
Patients are required to bring their Hong Kong Identity Card for identity verification and registration. Attendance will be recorded via smart ID card.

Can patients be followed up by more than one participating private ophthalmologist at the same time?
No. Patients enrolled in the Programme may only be registered under one private ophthalmologist at any given time.

Will participating private ophthalmologists manage other eye conditions?
Participating ophthalmologists primarily provide care for glaucoma. Other eye conditions are not covered under this Programme. However, patients may choose to receive treatment for other conditions at their own expense from the same ophthalmologist. Those enrolled in the Elderly Health Care Voucher Scheme may also use vouchers to pay for services and medications not covered under the Programme. For enquiries, patients may consult the C-MER Eye Center Customer Service team.

How can patients arrange eye check services?
Under the Programme, patients are entitled to receive up to one visual field (VF) test and one optical coherence tomography (OCT) scan per year provided by a private ophthalmologist. In general, a fee of HK$80 per investigation will be collected in advance during appointment booking, after which the relevant examinations will be arranged.
